to the home page of the GoldShooter mining club. GoldShooter was
founded May 2006 as a not for profit club by volunteer
experienced miners dedicated to bringing you recreational gold
mining at its very best. Members will enjoy access to hundreds
of acres of placer gold producing claims. Club members may keep
all the gold and other valuable minerals that they find.
Columbia group placer claims are the primary hub for GoldShooter.
Columbia is located in the Bradshaw mountains with some of the
best gold mining history in the state of Arizona. Our Columbia
group mining grounds run through the ghost town of Columbia to
the Ghost town of Humbug, up Swilling Gulch to the ghost town of
Beacon Light, and include Rockwall Gulch, Carpenter Gulch and
the Gold Hill area. One story found at News Paper Archives dot
com, tells of Jack Swilling discovering Placer gold in Swilling
Gulch so plentiful that he had to send out for burros to pack
the gold out of the gulch. Columbia group placer claims are
surrounded by multiple ghost towns with over a hundred major
lode gold mines that deposited placer gold through out the
entire area. The load mine ore shoots run from 0.25 to 9 or more
ounces of gold per ton. Some of the most unique historical
artifacts in the state remain in this area today. Area ghost
towns include Columbia, Humbug, Tip Top, Gillette, Packer,
Bradshaw City, Ft Tule, Cleator, Beacon light, CrownKing, Tiger
and others. GoldShooter members will enjoy mining, camping,
hiking, and have the opportunity to participate in historical
guided tours.
